About the Program

Investigating crime scenes, finding traces, analysing samples: Forensics is an exciting and diverse field of work and research. The six-semester Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forensic Science degree programme at H-BRS prepares students optimally for their future working environment in forensic analysis. The programme provides comprehensive basic scientific training, analytical methodological skills and includes a practical semester. In the basic modules, students learn the fundamentals of chemistry, biology and materials science. Building on this, they take courses such as pharmacology and toxicology, forensic biology, forensic material trace analysis and forensic quality assurance. They examine chemical, DNA and material traces using state-of-the-art laboratory methods and learn to classify findings legally and present them according to scientific standards. Half of the modules are offered in English, which opens up international career opportunities.
