About the Program
The guitar department of the Cologne University of Music and Dance with its locations in Cologne, Wuppertal and Aachen has been one of the most renowned addresses for the artistic and pedagogical training of students for decades. The program offers extensive networks of extracurricular activities in the three locations and the surrounding area. There are a number of guitar festivals and competitions, often artistically initiated and directed by the teachers. Students have opportunities for internships at municipal and private music schools. The program is divided into a basic study period (1st and 2nd year) with a high proportion of compulsory modules and a differentiated main study period (3rd and 4th year). After the two-year basic study period, students can choose between profiles in Instrument Solo, Instrument chamber music, or Instrumental Pedagogy.
