Industrial Product Design

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

From hairdryers and cars to industrial machines and prefabricated parts, industrial designers are responsible for making products more "human", more emotional, and more functional. To achieve this, solid artistic competence alone is not enough: whoever works in this field has to be highly familiar with the theory and practice of design and the properties of technical products. The degree program Industrial Product Design thus comprises four key areas: technology and construction, design and implementation, ergonomics and usability, and history and society. Theoretical knowledge is applied with the help of practical experience and complex product development work. The 5th semester is an internship semester. Graduates find employment opportunities in offices and studios for industrial design and in development and construction departments in companies of various sectors.
