Industriedesign

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Industrial Design begins with design basics that introduce students to the processes and methods of design development. Through projects, exercises, and seminars, students prepare for specializations in Constructive Design, Methodical Design, and Interface Design. The first two semesters offer students a forum to orient themselves, develop their talent and individual working methods, and thereby unfold their ability to act and make decisions. In addition to rational and planned approaches, experimental and explorative methods are also tested. The curriculum is structured into several short exercises and design projects that form the foundation of design. These are complemented by visual and spatial foundation courses (sketching and technical drawing, plastic design, color theory, typography and layout), instruction in analog and digital presentation methods, and teaching of scientific foundations in cultural and design history.
