Interaktive Medien

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Interactive Media program focuses on conceptual, communication-specific, and technical design issues of interactive and networked media. Seminars and projects explore the aesthetics and semiotics of digital media and analyze their interaction principles. Interdisciplinary projects test various forms of media staging, from information design and networked applications to animation, motion graphics, and media technology installations. The program examines how new interaction concepts are increasingly shaped by a rediscovery of human perception, thinking, and action, and how social networking strategies have led to a reversal of classical communication models. Students can specialize in interactive media design through project work and complete their Bachelor's degree with a thesis in this field. After completing a Bachelor's degree, students can pursue a Master's program in 'Interactive Information Design' at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design.
