About the Program

IMG (Intermediales Gestalten) is a study program for teaching students as a second subject that can replace the scientific minor at a cooperating university. The goal is to intensify artistic studies at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe while preparing students for a future teaching profession. In cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), this program was developed to consider the dimensions of space and time as an artistic form and social phenomenon, applying methods of artistic research in practice and theory. Thematic focuses include living environment and surroundings, body and space, architecture, performance, time-based and digital media.
