About the Program

The programme builds upon the foundation of a successfully completed degree in law from a university abroad. Its aim is for students to master the fundaments of German law, to develop the skills to conduct legal work according to the methods that are common in this field and to treat an area of law in-depth in a master thesis. The curriculum requires 33 C in law lectures and seminars, 6 C in the area of professionalization (key skills), and 21 C for the master thesis. For admission to the master thesis, students must have passed examinations achieving at least 24 C, including 6 C in "German Legal Terminology and Legal Working Methods" and at least 15 C in basic and advanced modules from at least two areas of Civil Law, Public Law, Criminal Law and Principles of Law. The programme ends with a five-month master thesis in German language.
