MAPPING MOABIT

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

According to Lucius Burckhardt's concept of 'walking science' or 'promenadology', we will explore and analyze the Berlin district of Moabit. The focus is on examining typical local design elements, situations, and the special 'urban island position', which we want to consider from multiple perspectives as part of the city. We reflect on the diversification of society, spatial concepts, and the continuous transformation of existing architecture in Berlin-Moabit. During the four excursion days, reference projects and other Berlin districts will be visited with a focus on neighborhood qualities, commoning, third spaces, and building within existing structures.
