About the Program

The Master's program "Public Administration - Police Management" is designed for civil servants of the higher service of the Hessian Police who have successfully completed the aptitude selection procedure for the higher police enforcement service. The program lasts two years, with the first year conducted in the federal states and the second year at the German Police University (DHPol) in Münster/North Rhine-Westphalia. The overall responsibility for the program lies with DHPol. The Hessian University of Public Management and Security conducts the first year of study in cooperation with the responsible educational institutions of the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The ten modules of the first year take place equally at the study locations of HöMS in Wiesbaden and the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration (FHöV) in Hahn/Airport in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Police University of Saarland participates by sending lecturers. The Master's program is fully modularized. The modules are presented in block form and each end with a written or oral module examination. The study is preceded by a multi-week internship in authorities and business enterprises.
