About the Program

Mathematics is everywhere: How does Google Maps find the shortest route? What do prime numbers have to do with electronic identity cards? How does the autofocus on a camera work? Studying mathematics provides the necessary background knowledge to answer these questions as well as a central core skill: problem solving. The programme includes fundamentals of mathematics (Analysis, linear algebra, probability theory and numerical analysis), fundamentals of computer science (especially programming), advanced modules (Differential equations, number theory, statistics, optimisation, etc.), applied modules (Image processing, robotics, cryptography, insurance mathematics, etc.), and a practical semester (Internship lasting several months).
