About the Program

The Mathematics Bachelor of Education program prepares students for teaching mathematics at the gymnasium level (secondary education). Students acquire both solid subject knowledge and didactic skills. The program covers fundamental and advanced mathematics, including algebra, number theory, analysis, geometry, topology, stochastics, and numerics. Students learn to approach complex problems rationally, improve their analytical abilities, and develop problem-solving skills both independently and in teams. The program consists of basic studies (1st-2nd semester) covering fundamentals of analysis, linear algebra, geometry, elementary mathematics, and introduction to subject didactics, followed by main studies (3rd-6th semester) that deepen these foundations and add basics of numerics, stochastics, and subject didactics. The degree requires completion of a second subject discipline and educational sciences.
