Mechanical Engineering

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

As the creative minds behind everything concerning engineering and technology, mechanical engineers develop innovative ideas for industry and ensure technical progress. The degree programme focuses on the traditional disciplines of mechanical engineering in which mechanical, production engineering and thermodynamic issues are explored. In addition to construction-related tasks, IT-based solutions are growing in importance. For this reason, it is also essential for students to gain knowledge in electrical engineering and information technology. The program covers three main areas: Development and construction, Energy and process engineering, and Production technology. A special feature at the start of the programme is the practice-oriented Bachelor's project where students work in groups on contemporary research and practical issues. Students can choose from 13 projects across the three areas of specialization. The curriculum includes mathematics, measurement science, computer science, mechanics, thermodynamics and materials science, with laboratory exercises and practical training to apply theoretical knowledge.
