About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering is broad-based and provides the necessary competencies over seven semesters to lay the foundation for a versatile and future-oriented career in mechanical engineering. In the first semesters, essential knowledge in mathematics, mechanics, natural sciences, and technical representation is taught, which is necessary to understand technical systems and develop solutions for them. Further modules deepen topics such as technical mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, electrical engineering, and information technology. From the fourth semester onwards, a wide range of specialization areas opens up the possibility to pursue individual interests and shape the professional orientation individually. Specializations include: General Mechanical Engineering, Autonomous Systems, Sustainable and Autonomous Maritime Systems, Sustainable Energy and Process Engineering, Management, Mechatronics, Product Design and Engineering, Sustainable Metal Cycles, and Technologies of Logistic Systems. A large elective area makes it possible to develop a personal study profile already in the bachelor's program.
