About the Program

The Bachelor of Mechatronics for Manufacturing is a binational degree program that qualifies students for the development and optimization of automated manufacturing processes in the semiconductor industry. The program teaches interdisciplinary skills from three core areas: Engineering fundamentals (Electrical Engineering, Mechanics, Computer Science, Robotics and Materials Science), Semiconductor technology (thin film and clean room technology, materials and chip production processes), and Production and quality management (process automation, measurement technology, data analysis and maintenance). Students study at HSZG in Zittau for the first three semesters in German, then at the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) in the Czech Republic for the fourth semester and back at HSZG for the fifth semester, both in English. The sixth semester consists of a practical module and Bachelor thesis in a company. The program offers a double degree from both universities and can optionally be completed as a cooperative KIAdirekt course with integrated work experience.
