About the Program

Mechatronics is a new and innovative field in the spectrum of engineering sciences. It combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science into a unique combination and lays the foundation for Industry 4.0. In many areas of mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, production technology, or microsystems technology, innovative products are created where solutions can only be achieved through the interaction of mechanical, electrical/electronic, and information processing components. Examples include anti-lock braking systems in vehicle technology or robots in automation. The research-oriented and interdisciplinary Bachelor's program in Mechatronics provides a solid and broad methodological basis in the field of physical and mathematical foundations. These are combined with both the mechanical and design fundamentals of mechanical engineering as well as advanced fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics. Students should bring mathematical and physical understanding and interest in technical relationships.
