Music - Jazz and popular music Bachelor of Music

Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.)

About the Program

Jazz was and continues to be the melting pot of music since the last century. It combines opposites, bringing together elements from classical, pop, and folkloric influences to new music. Communication with and through music is a central point of the study program. Students discover the individual development of artistic expression based on solid craftsmanship skills and the resulting musical conversation culture. This includes improvisation. The ability to improvise - making spontaneous decisions based on solid training and expertise - is significant not only musically but also socially. Experienced jazz musicians possess this ability. They are versatile, open, and adaptable, but also unconventional and individualistic - a powerful combination. The program aims to support and accompany young musicians in their development and provide them with the necessary tools to assert themselves professionally in their careers and find their own voice in music and society.
