About the Program

The Bachelor of Music (Jazz / Popular Music) is a basic degree program leading to a first professional qualification. The aim of the study is to enable graduates to pursue a career as a singer or instrumentalist in the field of jazz/popular music in a democratic society shaped by art and artistic education. Graduates are qualified as artistic, self-reflecting creative personalities who influence society. In particular, they are also able to contribute fruitfully to teams. They are capable of working and learning independently, also with regard to lifelong learning. They can connect disciplines and have the necessary interdisciplinary key competencies. The qualification also extends to instrumental or vocal pedagogy in the field of jazz/popular music.
