Physics and technology for space applications

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's program 'Physics and Technology for Space Applications' aims to train specialists for the space sector with a broad foundation in basic subjects. The high-tech space sector, with its extreme requirements for materials and technology, requires a high degree of interdisciplinary integration of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. The program was introduced in the winter semester 2017/18 and is designed interdisciplinary between physics and electrical engineering, offered in cooperation with the Technical University of Central Hesse (THM). Students acquire in-depth content and methodological knowledge through interdisciplinary training in the two core subjects of physics and electrical engineering, specialized knowledge to independently define and develop concrete solutions for current problems in physical-technical technologies in the field of space travel, e.g., on satellites, and additional competencies that allow them to develop a professional perspective in the interdisciplinary environment of space travel.
