Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The Physics program provides deep insights into fascinating research areas and familiarizes students with modern theories and experimental techniques in an internationally oriented environment. Students acquire scientific foundational knowledge in experimental and theoretical physics as well as mathematics. In the elective area, students have the opportunity to gain knowledge in non-physical fields. The physics program imparts comprehensive competencies and skills to apply acquired knowledge in a problem-oriented manner, critically evaluate it, and use it in a wide spectrum of professional fields. The curriculum includes Experimental Physics (11 mandatory modules), Theoretical Physics (6 mandatory modules), Mathematics (5 mandatory modules), and a non-physical elective area. For a voluntary stay abroad, especially within the ERASMUS program, the fourth or fifth semester is recommended. The teaching content is mainly conveyed in lectures, with seminars and exercises providing further explanation and practice through example problems. In the physics laboratory practicals, students acquire basic experimental skills and learn how to use scientific equipment. In the bachelor's thesis in the sixth semester, students apply the acquired competencies in an independent research project.
