Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

About the Program

The bachelor's degree program in product development and technical design teaches students to design and further develop technologically oriented products – consumer goods such as household items or motor vehicles, but also capital goods such as technical equipment that serves production. Students acquire know-how on how to control development processes, including techniques of computer-aided development, construction, industrial design as well as material and manufacturing techniques. The program offers two specializations: Product Design or Simulation. During the first three semesters, students acquire basic knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences and in the relevant engineering and design sciences. Specialized knowledge – such as design strategy analyses, product positioning in the market, methodical product development and design, new materials or knowledge of practical computer simulation – is taught during the last three semesters.
