The Regensburg International Graduate School of Life Sciences (RIGeL) offers a well-structured PhD programme for young scientists in the field of Life Sciences. The PhD programme assures a high quality education. PhD students will develop excellent scientific and academic skills, in preparation for interesting careers in the academic and industrial fields. Within the four disciplines of Biomedicine, Cellular Biochemistry and Biophysics, Molecular Ecology and Evolution, and Neurobiology, RIGeL provides a broad spectrum of Life Science research opportunities, ranging from molecular mechanisms to complex biological systems. Integrated in a research environment within the uniquely structured biological and medical faculties of the University of Regensburg and University Hospital, RIGeL is committed to instructing students applying a wealth of state-of-the-art methods, providing them with up-to-date concepts of modern biology and medicine. The combination scientific expertise and modern scientific facilities establishes a basis for excellent research. Furthermore, career support courses complement the PhD programme to enable our PhD students to communicate professionally, preparing them for the highly competitive international job market. The designated period for the PhD is three years.
