About the Program

The Bachelor of Music in Tuba is an 8-semester program focusing on developing professional tuba performance skills. The curriculum includes intensive individual tuba instruction, correpetition (piano accompaniment), and seminars throughout all semesters. The program features a comprehensive structure with modules covering main instrument studies, orchestral projects, chamber music, piano basics, music theory, ear training, music analysis, music physiology, music history and aesthetics, and elective specialization areas. Students complete their studies with a Bachelor's thesis consisting of a public chamber concert or solo recital of approximately 45 minutes and a written program booklet. During the course, students can place focus on chamber music, orchestra or education. Through numerous projects in chamber music, in the school orchestra, the Echo Ensemble and in the "Eisler Winds" series, students gain practice-oriented experience. Additional components include piano lessons, participation in the school choir, theory of physiological and psychological aspects of musicianship and practice, and key competencies in related fields (legal studies, self management, promotion).
