Anabin (KMK Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen) is Germany's official diploma recognition database, run by the Conference of Education Ministers. Universities, consulates, and employment offices use this data.

Anabin classification:

Code Meaning
H+ Fully recognized — equivalent to German Abitur, direct application possible
H+- Partially recognized — valid for some fields, university decides
H- Not directly recognized — Studienkolleg or 1-2 semesters of university required
