About the Program

The Master's program is the second part of the consecutive education in Biophysics. It offers four possible specialization areas: Biophotonics, Medical Biophysics, Molecular Biophysics, and Technical Biophysics, with coordinated courses from the three natural sciences. Knowledge from the Bachelor's program is further deepened in the strongly research-oriented Master's program, especially through practical courses and seminars. In addition to methodological expertise from the three natural sciences, a special focus is on the ability to communicate across the disciplines of biology, chemistry, and physics - students are trained to become all-round natural scientists. In the first two semesters, students choose one of the specialization areas. The courses in each specialization area include lectures, practical courses, and seminars from all natural sciences. The program concludes with a Master's thesis.
