About the Program
The Master's degree course in Business Mathematics (M.Sc.) is offered as a single-subject course by the Mathematics department. It is aimed at prospective students with a relevant Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree who wish to study the theories and methods of application-oriented mathematics in conjunction with economic issues in greater depth. Here, students can deepen their individual interests in a mathematical specialization area. At the same time, the economics specialization area offers a broad or optional in-depth selection of modules from business administration, economics and/or survey statistics. Mathematics and economics are well-balanced in the degree program. During their studies, graduates acquire significantly more in-depth specialist knowledge in theories, procedures and methods of application-oriented mathematics as well as in-depth specialist and methodological skills in economic science, business administration, economics or survey statistics. The qualification profile is rounded off by sound key, social and personal skills acquired during the course. Possible areas of work include banks, management consultancies and the stock exchange.
