About the Program

The general master's program in chemistry has three basic modules that can be freely combined from all offered sub-disciplines of chemistry. Courses from neighboring scientific disciplines of biology and physics can also be included to set individual thematic emphases. The program offers large freedom of choice with the motto "my master's suits me", allowing students to set individual focuses through free choice of modules. The basic modules each conclude with an oral final module examination. Two sub-disciplines are deepened by two advanced modules I, one of them by a further advanced module II. The final module includes an excursion and a research methods course to prepare for the master's thesis. The scientific master's thesis takes nine months and can also be done abroad.
