About the Program

The Master's degree programme in Landscape Ecology is research-oriented with strongly applied elements. Students acquire in-depth specialist knowledge in various disciplines and learn to recognize and analyze complex ecological interactions and relationships. Students can specialize in fields including functional ecology, renaturation ecology, animal and plant ecology, soil ecology, ecohydrology, environmental planning, and nature conservation. The program prepares students for independent work in ecological research, environmental protection, species/nature/environmental protection, landscape planning, soil and water protection, and climate impact and adaptation. The four-semester program requires 120 ECTS credits: minimum 60 ECTS in elective courses, 30 ECTS for Master thesis and colloquium, and up to 30 ECTS can be imported from related Master's programs.
