Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The international Master's program "Materials Chemistry and Mineralogy" deals with a broad range of natural materials, with the spectrum of topics from practice and basic research spanning the entire range from raw material to end product. From the second semester onwards, the mineralogy profile focuses on natural and technically produced inorganic, non-metallic materials, while in the chemistry profile the spectrum ranges from solid-state chemistry to macro- and supramolecular materials to nanostructured surfaces as well as the structural characterisation of their volume and surface properties. The degree program - offered on an interdisciplinary basis by the departments of Geosciences and Chemistry - aims to impart core scientific competences from various disciplines of the participating subjects and, in particular, skills and knowledge in the areas of production, analytics and characterisation of materials.
