About the Program

The diversity and complexity of the problems to which mathematics can serve as part of the solution calls for the mastery of basic mathematical theories and techniques as well as the ability to independently learn and apply skills in other areas as needed. The goal of this programme is to prepare students for their future careers. Students may opt to specialize in one of the following areas: Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Numerical Analysis, Optimization, Probability and Statistics, Scientific Computing, Theoretical Computer Science. Graduates of this programme will be able to demonstrate tenacity and a high level of stress resistance in completing difficult tasks, abilities that employers particularly value. Typical employment sectors include insurance, banking, universities, research institutions, consulting, and data processing.
