The Master of Science in Mathematics at JGU Mainz offers content from both pure and applied mathematics. Students can choose from a variety of specializations for individual study planning. These specialization areas include major fields of mathematics such as Algebra, Algebraic Curves and Riemann Surfaces, Computer Algebra, Function Theory, Topology, Number Theory, Functional Analysis, Differential Geometry, Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Stochastics, Manifolds and Vector Analysis, Data Structures and Efficient Algorithms, and many more. Students decide which areas they want to focus on as their study emphasis. The program has been comprehensively modernized and further internationalized, with the possibility to complete the entire program in English. At the same time, the program remains strongly anchored in the German-language teaching tradition with a wide range of German-language courses available.
