About the Program

In the master's degree program Mathematics students can acquire comprehensive scientific knowledge in a main field of mathematics. They can choose from the following areas: "Algebra, Number Theory and Logic," "Mathematical Analysis and Differential Equations," "Discrete Mathematics," "Geometry and Topology," "Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing" and "Probability Theory and Stochastic Analysis." In addition to introductory lecture modules, students of this degree program also have the possibility to directly attend advanced master's level lectures in other mathematical areas. Mathematics topics are furthermore presented in special graduate seminars. Students can gather practical experience e.g. from practical tutoring, internships in the industrial sector, or programming projects. Those who are interested in the application of mathematics in other areas of science, can also choose modules from a minor.
