About the Program

The Master's degree program in mathematics prepares students professionally for challenging jobs in business and industry or in the public sector. Graduates are able to develop and implement procedures for solving practical problems using mathematical methods and taking into account economic requirements. Furthermore, the Master's degree program is the prerequisite for a doctorate in mathematics or in an applied subject. The course of the Master's degree program is characterized by a significantly increased freedom of choice compared to the Bachelor's program. In three semesters, lectures and seminars in pure and applied mathematics are taken. In the mathematics program, a minor subject related to mathematics is taken; in the Master's degree program, the minor subject is continued by completing advanced modules from the respective subject. A master's thesis (6 months) is completed in the fourth semester.
