Mathematik

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Mathematics builds on the knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's program and deepens the mathematical foundations in the student's chosen field of study: Mathematics or Technomathematics. The program is research-oriented and enables graduates to work independently and scientifically, preparing them to tackle new problems. The coupling with natural sciences or engineering facilitates entry into professional life, as students receive a solid mathematical education with a practical orientation and in-depth knowledge in their chosen minor subject. The Mathematics specialization consists of approximately 80% mathematics courses and 20% minor subject courses. The Technomathematics specialization consists of about two-thirds mathematics courses and one-third minor subject courses (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering). The Data Science specialization consists of about two-thirds mathematics courses and one-third computer science courses. The program spans four semesters, with lectures, exercises, and seminars in the first three semesters, and the fourth semester reserved for writing the master's thesis. Graduates are able to formulate practical problems mathematically and find suitable mathematical methods for solutions. With their skills in modeling, mathematicians are in demand in almost all scientific fields and industries.
