The Master's program in Physics (120 ECTS) offers research-oriented education in experimental or theoretical physics with specialization in one of the following areas: Theoretical Physics (TP), Soft Matter: Polymer and Biophysics (WM), Surfaces, Thin Films and Nanostructures (ODN), Physics of Materials and Functional Materials (WF), and Photovoltaics (PV). Physicists work in many areas of industry and business that place special demands on analytical and systematic skills. They work in basic and industrial research, in application-oriented development, in planning and testing tasks in industry and administration, in consulting and sales, but also in the software industry or in banking. The Master's degree corresponds to the previous diploma and qualifies for career entry in the above-mentioned areas. A subsequent doctorate is possible.
